The Roadtrip Report
I have a new friend who says "Phewff" (pronounced as it is written) and I think it's hilarious. She has made me want to use it when I want to express a sense of completion. Not in a complaining way, just in a "ok, I'm done" or "can't believe it" sorta way. So, to begin, here's how I'm feeling: phewff. The road trip was great! Made a bunch of new friends; connected with some old friends; and, saw some 'potential' friends (if you know what I mean). Needless to say, I had an AWESOME time over the Fourth of July holiday. I loved it actually. I ended up spending most of the time with this crew of homies (From L to R: Dave Iba, Joseph Watkins, Jerry Stenquist, yours truly).
We traveled more than 15 hours together, we slept on the floor of a hotel, we car danced next to Asians, we saw (sort of) and heard Neil Diamond sing "Sweet Caroline" twice, we went to the Sacred Grove, and, it wouldn't be a road trip if we didn't drive 8 miles before figuring out that one of our bags was inadvertently left behind at the hotel. No worries though...at least we weren't in New York. At different times we met or caught up with friends (as I mentioned before). Here's a little collage of Marc, Mary, Laura, Mark, Sister Lyric Olsen, Tommy, Whit and Cameron.
Also, when we stopped in NYC...some cute girls made us dinner and then:
THEY SQUISHED IN THE CAR WITH US BACK TO DC. This picture is deceiving though. Afterward, Jerry jumped in the boot of the SUV. Hilarious.Favorite part of the trip: The Sacred Grove
