Why the MGM Grand?

For those of you who didn't read my Facebook status update recently, I would like to publicly endorse and promote HOTWIRE.COM--seriously. That is the reason why we're now staying at the MGM.

Let's rewind a few nights: Dad, Shazza and I were in St. George looking online for hotels on the Strip to stay in. We tossed a few names around and looked at places that we could get the best rates. Early on, we came across Hotwire and nearly made a purchase on their 'lucky dip' type system. You select the area and rating--then you don't find out where you're staying until after you've paid. An intriguing prospect.

However, we really wanted to make sure we stayed somewhere nice and Hotwire doesn't make any promises. So, we went to another website and nearly booked a room at MGM for $80 per night. Once we got to the final payment page, unfortunately, we were hit with the ugly truth. Hidden costs = $110 per night. Really?


Discouraged. We went back to Hotwire and decided to take the risk. It paid off. After making final payment, we received our MGM booking confirmation number!! Woohoo. Needless to say, we were very excited and now I swear by Hotwire. Do it! You never know--you could be staying here too.
