BYU Rugby National Champions!

It's a little known fact that this occurred last May. That's right, the BYU Rugby team took the USA Rugby National Guard Championships in California.

Last night, in support of my mates on the team, I attended their scrimmage match against Utah Valley University. Of course, we won (I say "Of course" because BYU is in a higher division than UVU).

Anyway, while attending, I happened to be interviewed by BYU TV (insert laughs from Bethany because I missed her call while I was being interviewed *inside joke*). And, I was disgusted by something that I found out from the reporter...BYU is not ranked 1st in the preseason national rugby polls! Nobody has played anyone 'for reals' yet, and BYU is only ranked second. What the?

You can read their reasonings by clicking on the link above, however, I just have to say that they will probably be proven wrong. And, come May 2010, we'll see if we can knock some sense into the editorial staff at "eRugbyNews." Final word: I say get a real ranking system...ha ha.
